Kakao Pay Office
In June 2022, KakaoPay moved into the ‘Agit’ office building in Pangyo, where various Kakao affiliates are based. To create a well-structured workspace, a dedicated task force(TF) was formed to lead the project, focusing on integrating functionality, efficiency, aesthetics, and emotional comfort while reflecting KakaoPay’s unique work culture.
Kakao Pay’s Work Style and Spatial Design Strategy
Kakao Pay crew(employees) primarily work remotely while maintaining high efficiency through horizontal communication and an autonomous work style. To seamlessly integrate this work culture into the office space, several strategic design elements were implemented.

1. Sharing and Openness for Better Results
Each floor was designed with a lounge area to facilitate easy collaboration and seamless knowledge-sharing. Various functional spaces were strategically placed to encourage gathering, while ensuring smooth transitions between different workspaces.

2. Agile Execution as a Driving Force in the Market
An open stair (Open Stair) structure was incorporated within the office to enable quick and direct communication, allowing for fast decision-making and efficient collaboration.

3. Encouraging Self-Initiated Growth
Customized workspaces were provided to enhance productivity and support individual growth, allowing crew members to optimize their work environments according to their needs.

4. Collaborating to Achieve Common Goals
Open ceilings and indirect lighting were employed to create a comfortable and inspiring atmosphere for collaborative work. The first implementation on the 11th floor received highly positive feedback from the crew.

5. Respecting Each Other for Free Exchange of Ideas
‘Around Room’ meeting spaces were introduced to facilitate horizontal and open communication, fostering a culture of respect and collaboration.

6. Putting Users First to Ensure a Secure Financial Experience
Opinions from different teams were actively gathered and incorporated into the space design, ensuring that the office environment, much like KakaoPay’s services, is tailored to meet user needs. The design prioritizes crew-centric spaces that enhance usability and comfort.

KakaoPay’s Core Values in Design
The fundamental values of KakaoPay—Trustworthy, Effortless, and Equal—were seamlessly integrated into the office space design.
Trustworthy → Sophisticated
The design conveys a sense of scale and credibility befitting a publicly listed company while maintaining a trendy and refined aesthetic that aligns with its fintech identity.

Effortless → Modernistic
A simple and intuitive design was adopted, mirroring KakaoPay’s user-friendly services.

Equal → Embracing
The warmth of the Kakao ecosystem was incorporated to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all crew members.

Additionally, careful attention was given to balancing materials that exude the reliability of a financial company with those that reflect the friendliness of the Kakao brand.

15F All-Hands Lounge
Located on the Skybridge connecting Pangyo Agit Buildings A and B, the All-Hands Lounge is a dedicated space for crew welfare. Designed with grid-patterned furniture, ambient lighting, thoughtfully curated music, a café, and a tiered square seating area, this space fosters open and spontaneous communication.
Here, crew members can enjoy professional massages from certified health keepers, purchase affordable snacks from an in-house mart, and unwind in the Playroom—an individualized relaxation space featuring a variety of games and entertainment. Additionally, the lounge includes a seminar room equipped to host large-scale events and training sessions.

15F Welcome Desk
The Welcome Desk, crafted from stainless steel, exudes a sense of corporate scale and presence. Alongside it, a U-glass brand wall and a golden Ryan mascot warmly greet visitors. A 36-meter-long ticker board displaying KakaoPay’s core values and a large curved screen further enhance the image of a cutting-edge tech-fin company.

9F - 14F Workspace & Lounge
Floors 9 to 14 are dedicated to work functions, with each floor comprising a lounge (break area, meeting rooms, and focus rooms) and workspaces tailored to support diverse work styles.
The individual workspaces feature an open ceiling for a more spacious feel, while indirect lighting evenly distributes light to reduce eye strain. Additionally, each floor is equipped with capsule-style nap rooms, massage chair rooms, single-person focus rooms, and office automation (OA) facilities, all designed to enhance crew productivity and comfort.
Through this spatial design initiative, KakaoPay has successfully created an environment that aligns with its unique work style. Moving forward, the company aims to further enhance its workspace, enabling crew members to work more efficiently and creatively.
